What is this all about?

My name is John Haugaard. I want to shake up my photography practice and habits, so I’m trying this:

  1. Embrace a new approach - instant print photography. I’m not abandoning digital photography or old-school film photography, just adding something new. I have a new-to-me 46 year old Polaroid SX-70 that I will use as I start this. I may add the Fujifilm Instax platform to the project. We’ll see. [Update: I have added a second camera - a Polaroid I-2, just introduced in September. More advanced. We’ll see if it is better.]

  2. Add an instant photograph, taken each day, to the gallery. On a perfect day I will chose the one best photograph to sum up the day and post it. I suspect, though, on many days it will be the only instant print photograph I take that day. My aim is to have more of the former, and fewer of the latter.

  3. Start all of this on my 69th birthday, and proceed for 1 year - My 70th Year.

There is nothing particularly significant about the 70th year, or turning 69. But, for this purpose, it serves as a convenient dividing line between then and now.
